Service
Kitchen Cabinet Painting
Painting cabinets well is mostly preparation and process: doors and drawer fronts come off and are labeled, everything is degreased and scuff-sanded, a bonding primer goes on, then two sprayed coats of a cabinet-grade enamel. Boxes and face frames are sprayed in place with the kitchen masked off.
What's included
- Doors and drawer fronts removed, labeled, and sprayed off site
- Degreasing, sanding, and bonding primer
- Cabinet-grade enamel, sprayed for a smooth finish
- Boxes and frames finished in place
- Hardware removed and reinstalled, or upgraded
- Islands, pantries, and bathroom vanities
Common questions
How long is the kitchen out of action?
Usually four to six days. The doors cure off site; the kitchen is usable most evenings, with the cabinets open.
Will the finish chip?
A properly primed, cabinet-grade enamel is very durable. Doors are handled gently for the first couple of weeks while the finish fully cures.
Can you paint oak with heavy grain?
Yes. Grain can be filled for a smoother look, or left to show through for a painted-wood character. Both are discussed at the estimate.
