Exterior Painting
Exterior paint on the Gulf Coast fails from the substrate up: mildew, chalking, rotted trim, and moisture behind the film. The job starts with a pressure wash, repairs to anything soft, scraping and priming bare wood, and then two coats of a 100% acrylic made for this climate.
What's included
- Pressure washing and mildew treatment
- Scraping, sanding, and priming bare wood
- Minor wood rot and trim repair
- Caulking seams and around windows
- Siding, trim, fascia, soffits, shutters, doors
- Decks, porches, and railings
Common questions
When is the best time of year to paint outside?
October through May is ideal here. Summer work is possible with an early start, but afternoon humidity and pop-up storms slow it down.
How long will it last?
With proper prep and a quality acrylic, seven to ten years on siding is realistic. Sun-facing trim and doors are usually the first to need attention.
Can you fix rotten trim?
Light carpentry is part of the job: replacing a run of fascia, a window sill, or a section of siding before painting. Larger structural work is quoted separately.
